Top Takeaways From This Episode

  • A woman has the power within herself to beat anything!
  • Beating stress is about more than a mindset; it’s physical.
  • You have to be responsible for your own medical care.
  • No one will ever know your body as well as you do.

After her own personal experience with an intense, high-risk pregnancy, Parijat Deshpande, began her work to help pregnant women understand they have a say in their medical treatment. As a leading high-risk pregnancy and wellness expert, Parijat uses her calming energy to guide women to manage their physical, emotional, and mental stress so they can have a healthy pregnancy and give their baby a strong start to life.

A Terrifying Journey

Parijat’s experience with pregnancy was terrifying, to put it lightly. After undergoing fertility treatment, she endured the heartache of losing her first baby. Additionally, her second pregnancy was extremely high-risk from the start. Severe complications resulted in bed rest and a long stay in the hospital. It was a tremendously high-stress situation, as you might expect.

A Decision to Never Give Up

While in the hospital, Parijat’s only goal was to relax and relieve tension within her body. Despite what she had often been told, she knew stress was not just a mindset issue. Releasing stress was about releasing tension. Parijat quickly learned that there was a direct correlation between her stress levels and the early contractions she was experiencing. Finally, she delegated everything and focused solely on keeping her baby safe. Luckily, she was able to delay delivery until 24 weeks and 5 days – enough time to increase her son’s chances at life.

Her son is now a happy and thriving five-year-old little boy and a beautiful new daughter born via surrogate!

A Call to Do More

After years of relative seclusion inside their home to ensure her son’s health safety, Parijat answered the call to help other women experiencing similar pregnancy complications. Her background in psychology and health propelled her to get to work. Now, she teaches women they have the power within their bodies and to trust their instincts.

Parijat Deshpande wrote the book on beating pregnancy stress. The Brave Files Podcast.
