Confusion and Pain
Six years ago, out of the blue, Diane Lang found herself fighting an extreme illness. She could not eat or drink and was unable to swallow. Her weight was dropping at an excessive speed. In addition, she was in extreme pain.
Diane is a public speaker and teacher. In light of health issues, Diane was forced to put her career on hold. She was heartbroken because her body was forcing her to give up the work she loved. Fearing the worst, Diane’s future looked bleak.
Surprising Relief
After countless tests and unimaginable pain, Diane was diagnosed with Laryngopharyngeal Reflux (LPR). It was at this point that everything changed.
Generally speaking, Diane suffered greatly. She not only lost her voice for two months but was on an extremely strict diet. Much of our socialization revolves around food and drink, and Diane began to realize her way of life would never be the same. She grieved this loss most of all.
Unexpected Connections
To her surprise, Diane found herself connecting with others through her illness. She related to her therapy patients on a deeper level. She now understood the grieving process people often experience in the wake of an injury or illness. Eventually, Diane felt relief in accepting her new way of life.
SHE NOW CONNECTS MORE DEEPLY AND EXPERIENCES MORE FULLY.
