Gia Duke has committed herself to heart-centered work, however, after spending a large portion of her life running from cause to cause and spreading herself too thin, she realized that there were too many causes for her to give full support at all times. She couldn't help fast enough and there was always more work to be done – no matter how hard she worked and tried. She even wrote about it Conscious Company Magazine in the article How to Avoid Compassion Exhaustion.
Following Her Heart
Gia truly did spend most of her time following her heart. From teaching and working for the Humane Society, to working as a spokesperson for heart-centered companies and contemplating adoption, Gia eventually experienced what she calls “compassion exhaustion.”
It wasn’t until she began holding home parties for a company aligned with her personal values, that Gia realized how much she loved acting as spokesperson. She used this as an avenue to encourage others within the company to focus on fundraising and giving back to the community. As you can see, Gia truly encompasses heart-centered living!
A Realization From The Heart
Eventually, Gia found herself looking into the process of adoption. Soon, she discovered no one was talking about the foster care system and all of the children living in foster care. Gia felt passionately called to use her teaching background to build a creative arts wilderness retreat in her mountain town.
The retreat was geared towards children in the foster care system. Amazingly, it was a one-woman show, run entirely by Gia herself. While the retreat is no longer in action, this process led Gia to her true calling, helping people help people.
Revolution Super Love
Gia continues to follow her heart and encourage others to focus on love and kindness. Her movement, Revolution Super Love, pushes people from all walks of life to live authentically and live with heart.
She teaches us the importance of identifying our heart reasons, the driving focus behind our work. It’s through that deeper connection that we continue to grow and improve the world around us. It’s true that everyone impacts the world in a different way.
Trust me, friend – The world needs you!
