Top Takeaways From This Episode

  • Life can change drastically in a single moment.
  • Everyone deals with grief and trauma in their own way, and coping in a way that feels authentic to you is the only road to healing.
  • Sometimes the most you can do for the people around you is to live your life for yourself.
  • It’s not about ‘can’ you do something, it’s about are you willing to?

Tragedy Strikes At the Least Expecting Times

On the outside, Christine looks like she has everything together. But underneath she carries multitudes of hurt. During what was supposed to be her perfect pregnancy, at late-term,  the doctors couldn’t find her baby’s heartbeat. Her unborn child was gone. And she was required to give birth.

She was, understandably,  devastated. Christine knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that, given the choice, she would trade her own life for her daughter’s (Maeve). But, this wasn’t an option. Christine was still alive so instead, she made the choice to continue on, to always honor Maeve.

Always Part of the Family

Everyone deals with trauma in their own way. Christine and her husband chose to continue with Maeve as part of the family. At Christmas, she has her own stocking, and in the playroom, she has her own plaque, alongside her two living sisters.

Though Christine shares that some of her family and friends think she and her husband are crazy, she knows that this is the right way for her family to honor Maeve. Christine, a very spiritual person, can even still feel Maeve’s energy around her at times.

My Life; For Maeve

Christine realized, after Maeve’s passing, she wanted to figure out how to honor Maeve’s life within her own. After getting a coach, and finding a true community, she decided her calling was to help new female entrepreneurs.

Why Is It Worth It?

Christine has recognized that despite things being scary or hard, she’d rather do what is best for her and not worry about the rest. She knows what is best for her, and people-pleasing isn’t conducive to creating her best life.

Christine’s dream is to reach the end of her life, look back, and have no regrets. She wants to know she lived the bravest path in her most beautiful life.
