Top Takeaways From This Episode

  • Never take life for granted, recognize you have limited time, and live to your full potential.
  • Stand for something, or you’ll fall for everything.
  • Happiness isn’t achieved with a high-paying job, or a lot of money, but instead by finding your own path.
  • Faith and belief are required for dreaming but those dreams won’t come true without commitment.

Adolescence Reinvented

Carlos Adell grew up in Spain, near Barcelona. He describes his childhood self as being a nerdy guy, with mom’s picked-out clothing and big glasses. Things changed, however, once he went into a new high school, and decided to “reinvent” himself, for better, or in this case, worse.

For eight or nine years after, he became a drug dealer and user and a self-described “rebel” and “bully”. He ran with the wrong crowds and lived life on the edge of life and death until tragedy almost struck. Carlos was in a coma for five days after a car crash, almost losing his life in the process. He realized he needed to make a change.

The Answer

Carlos began to search for something bigger than him. He wanted to make a lasting impact, even if only with one person. He wanted to make sure if he died, he’d leave in peace knowing he helped people. This was the beginning of changing his life, this time for the better.

Now Carlos truly had a purpose, “something to live and to die for.” Carlos’s favorite book is even on this idea, Your Stand is Your Brand. After the car crash, Carlos decided he needed to move forward, and began to rebuild his life from the ground up.

Taking the Brave Leap

At first, Carlos worked for a big corporation but discovered it didn’t make him happy. It drained and stressed him, actually resulting in a stroke. So he did the only thing that he could do, he quit his job and went on the journey to find his true meaning and happiness.

After multiple jobs and life changes, he was given a program called Get the Edge, and began his own business as an entrepreneur to help people online. It helped him find his core values and gave him the purpose to his life that he had been searching for the whole time.

Connect with Carlos

Carlos is a renowned consultant and you can find him, on Facebook, Linkedin, and on his own website, Kayros Consulting, where he houses his community, called The Unstoppables. He has been featured on CBS, NBC, and FOX News, just to name a few. He has courses in branding, growth, and business strategy.

Giving is Good

Kiva is a micro-lending non-profit that allows you to loan money to an individual to allow them to start or grow their own business. The borrower does repay the loan, as it’s not a donation, but you can get updates on what they’re doing with their money in the meantime, and how it’s impacting their lives, and enriching the world around them.

""You need to live your life as if it could be your last day on earth, but recognize it probably isn't.""
