Adolescence Reinvented
Carlos Adell grew up in Spain, near Barcelona. He describes his childhood self as being a nerdy guy, with mom’s picked-out clothing and big glasses. Things changed, however, once he went into a new high school, and decided to “reinvent” himself, for better, or in this case, worse.
For eight or nine years after, he became a drug dealer and user and a self-described “rebel” and “bully”. He ran with the wrong crowds and lived life on the edge of life and death until tragedy almost struck. Carlos was in a coma for five days after a car crash, almost losing his life in the process. He realized he needed to make a change.
The Answer
Carlos began to search for something bigger than him. He wanted to make a lasting impact, even if only with one person. He wanted to make sure if he died, he’d leave in peace knowing he helped people. This was the beginning of changing his life, this time for the better.
Now Carlos truly had a purpose, “something to live and to die for.” Carlos’s favorite book is even on this idea, Your Stand is Your Brand. After the car crash, Carlos decided he needed to move forward, and began to rebuild his life from the ground up.
Taking the Brave Leap
At first, Carlos worked for a big corporation but discovered it didn’t make him happy. It drained and stressed him, actually resulting in a stroke. So he did the only thing that he could do, he quit his job and went on the journey to find his true meaning and happiness.
After multiple jobs and life changes, he was given a program called Get the Edge, and began his own business as an entrepreneur to help people online. It helped him find his core values and gave him the purpose to his life that he had been searching for the whole time.
