Top Takeaways From This Episode

  • It’s never too early or late to change careers
  • People are always willing to help, you just have to ask
  • Sometimes we are called to help others living our experiences
  • When opportunities present themselves make sure to open the door

Helen Krug von Nidda grew up in Switzerland where she lived with her Mother. While growing up, Helen was always encouraged to follow her deepest passion, theater. Despite having a pleasant life in Switzerland, Helen felt staying that would be taking the boring, safe route through life and she wasn’t here for that. It was time to embrace opportunity.

An Unrealized Dream

Helen decided to try her hand at professional acting after graduating from college. Unfortunately surviving in Manhattan is expensive and auditions were few and far between.

With great disappointment, Helen moved back to Switzerland. Her dream of living and working in New York would come to a close; so she thought. As her 15-year college reunion approached, Helen saw a new opportunity to chase her dreams. This time she wasn't giving up!

From the United Nations to Helping Others Live their Passions

Helen left a thriving career at The United Nations to become a coach. She now helps international women pursue their dreams.

Helen is a contagiously optimistic coach, trainer, and speaker.

Giving is Good

Helen supports GiveDirectly for the simple reason that they give directly to the communities they are helping. They believe that the people who need the support also know how to spend the money on the things that they need the most. GiveDirectly is a nonprofit that lets donors like you send money directly to the world’s poorest households. We believe people living in poverty deserve the dignity to choose for themselves how best to improve their lives — cash enables that choice.
