Journey To Becoming a Founder

Dr. Erin Moore had always had a passion for helping others. It wasn’t until 2007 that she found her true calling, to help the people of Nepal. Struggling with imposter syndrome, white saviorism, and martyrdom she quickly realized that in order to effectively help those in need she needed to get rid of her ego. After years of working for other nonprofit organizations in Nepal, Dr. Moore decided it was time to start her own thus ParticpAid was born.

Imposter Syndrome

With a dream of helping the people of Nepal, Dr. Moore quickly got to work with her own nonprofit organization. Being the founder of a nonprofit organization comes with its own struggles. After her first failed promise, she felt like she let the people of Nepal down. Only then to realize the best way to support these people was to make these mistakes.

The Evolution of Support

Originally dedicated to health initiatives in Nepal the organization grew and adapted to fit the needs of those it served. After the earthquake in Nepal, they shifted their focus to disaster relief before finally implementing health camps in rural areas.

Self Love vs. Self Compassion

The lessons learned along the way are integral to the person Dr. Moore is today. She now works as a Self Love coach helping others discover that they too can affect change. The only thing that many people are missing is a healthy relationship with themselves.

Many naturopathic doctors use herbs, supplements, and other remedies to support this self-healing process. Dr. Moore is a lot different from other doctors you’ll meet.  Her clinical focus is on the emotional and behavioral aspects of chronic disease. That means that although she is trained and licensed to prescribe anything from Alpha-lipoic acid to Zoloft, he treatment plans do not include anything that comes in a bottle.

You can find her on her website, Facebook, or on Instagram.

Giving is Good

In addition to the nonprofit that she founded, ParticipAid, she supports Green Empowerment. Green Empowerment works with rural communities and partners around the world to improve access to affordable and renewable energy, safe drinking water, sanitation systems, fuel-efficient cookstoves, and more. With our support, projects are designed, constructed, and maintained by the communities that benefit from them to ensure long-term economic and environmental sustainability. Our projects help individuals and families pave their own pathway to prosperity.

"Self-love is a forever process of getting to know yourself better and accepting what you find again and again."
